The Jennings Silver Company was founded in 1906 in Newark, NJ and was purchased by International Silver in 1943. The pattern is called Sedan and was designed in 1919 by Alfred G. Kintz, marking the end of the Art Nouveau "New Art" era and ushering in the Art Deco era with its geometric forms, expensive materials, and exotic motifs that began in 1920 making these 102 year old design elements and pieces a very RARE Transitional Treat!!!!
The service set is monogrammed "B" and there are No Defects, No Scratches, and No Dents. All 5 pieces are in Excellent Condition and are exactly as they appear in the photos and Absolutely STUNNING in person with a combined weight of over 1740 grams total. A unique opportunity to own a symbol of artistic growth and change with both the influences of Art Nouveau, a style that lasted 39 years and reflected a new vitality, eclectic energy and elements of naturalism than those that preceded it, and the style that subsequently replaced it known as Art Deco which lasted 19 years and was followed by Modernism designs. This is a truly lovely set searching for the perfect Showcase.
